The Sala dei Contrari at the Rocca di Vignola is once again illuminated with ETRA d’inverno, the musical event that will accompany the public over the Christmas period with three appointments with free admission, subject to availability. A journey through different genres and suggestions, made even more fascinating by light sets and evocative atmospheres, to experience music in a space of great historical charm.
The first concert is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. with aTribute to Ennio Morricone by the Soloists of the Terre Verdiane Symphony Orchestra. It will be an exciting journey through the Maestro’s most celebrated soundtracks, performed by Renata Campanella (soprano), Cristina Zambelli (trumpet), Andrea Medici (clarinet), Andrea Candeli (guitar) and Stefano Giaroli (conducting and piano).
On Saturday, Dec. 27, also at 9 p.m., the Sala dei Contrari will host the Joy Gospel Choir. The repertoire runs through Contemporary Gospel, inspired by composers such as Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin and Kurt Carr, and opens up to Christian music with songs made famous by Darlene Zschech, Twila Paris and Hillsong, without neglecting the great traditional gospel classics such as Edwin Hawkins’ famous “Oh Happy Day.” Choral harmonizations, solo voices and original arrangements will create an engaging and energetic concert.
The third and final event is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 9 p.m., with the traditional New Year’s Concert, featuring BCC Felsinea as a partner in the event. The star of the evening will be the Strings Music Ensemble, which will lead the audience on a musical journey capable of combining great tradition with contemporary sounds: from the waltzes and polkas of Johann Strauss to reinterpretations for string ensemble of famous pop and rock songs. A concert designed to celebrate the meeting of past and present and greet the New Year with emotion and participation.
All performances will be held in the Hall of the Contrari of the Fortress of Vignola, with entrance from via Muratori Bridge.
Free and free admission subject to availability.
Winter ETRA-with artistic direction by Andrea Candeli-is organized with the support of Fondazione di Vignola and Fondazione di Modena, in collaboration with the Cultural Laboratory APS and Artinscena.
