Historical map of the castle and podesteria of Monfestino in the marquisate of Vignola, made on the basis of documentary and cartographic sources dating from the 15th-16th centuries. The drawing depicts the castle as it must have appeared at the end of the 16th century, with a detail of the Campanaria tower, the pivot of the sighting and surveillance system. Also depicted are the historical map of the podesteria of Monfestino with the toponymy of the time, a view of the ancient Romanesque Pieve dell’Assunta of Rocca Santa Maria, and a series of symbols carved on some ancient portals of churches and houses in the area.
